Hi, I’m Nick!

I'm a Registered Nurse, university lecturer and a Pilates instructor with a passion for helping people move with greater confidence, strength and purpose. My journey into Pilates began through my own experience living with ankylosing spondylitis, where movement became more than exercise. It became an essential part of managing my health and maintaining my quality of life.

That experience shaped the way I teach today. I believe Pilates should be welcoming, accessible and adaptable, empowering every individual to move in a way that feels right for their body.

My Philosophy

Pilates is not about perfection or pushing through pain. My approach focuses on purposeful, evidence-informed movement that helps people build strength, improve mobility and develop greater confidence in their bodies. Every class encourages control, body awareness and progress at an individual pace. The goal is simple: to help you move well, feel strong and create balance both on and beyond the mat.

My Approach

Every class is designed to provide a supportive environment where participants feel comfortable exploring movement at their own pace. Whether you're attending your very first Pilates class or looking to further develop your practice, sessions are tailored with clear instruction, thoughtful progressions and practical movement that supports everyday life.

Drawing on my background in nursing and higher education, I place a strong emphasis on quality instruction, safe movement and helping people understand not only how to move, but why each movement matters.

Qualifications

I am a trained Pilates instructor with a strong interest in movement, mobility and helping people feel more confident in their bodies. My training includes anatomy, movement principles, matwork, small equipment, class programming and practical Pilates instruction.

I am continuing to develop my qualifications and education within the Pilates and movement space, building on my existing training through ongoing study, practical experience and professional development.

For me, learning does not stop once a qualification is completed. I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and teaching practice so that Move with Nick remains safe, considered, inclusive and grounded in contemporary movement principles.

Whether you are completely new to Pilates, returning to movement after time away, or looking to build strength, mobility and confidence, my aim is to create classes where you feel welcome and supported.

Beyond the Mat

I believe movement is one part of a balanced life, and my aim is to help others discover the confidence and enjoyment that comes from moving well.
